Marsh Creek Detention Facility is a minimum security men’s facility located within our parish boundaries. This ministry is founded on one of the corporal works of mercy: visit the imprisoned. It is based on the teachings of Jesus who told us to treat all others as if they were Christ in disguise. Ministers go to Marsh Creek every Sunday to conduct a Communion Service, which includes the Liturgy of the Word, songs, and sharing God’s love with the men who are unable to come to church. The time commitment is approximately two hours on Sunday morning. Teams of two ministers go out each week, and you can go out once or twice a month or as little as every few months depending on your availability. Both men and women are welcome and encouraged to volunteer.
