Baptism and Sacramental Preparation for 1st Grade through High School
Students will participate in a two year program that will prepare them for the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and Eucharist. The first year is the faith foundation year that encompasses an understanding of our Catholic faith, contemplative and traditional prayer, reading stories in Jesus’ life, familiarity with Old and New Testaments and Catholic Social Teachings. Children and Teens will be Baptized in their first year of preparation.
The second year will prepare the students for reception of the sacraments. Students will gain an understanding of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist and their significance in their lives. Students who are in high school will also prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist for Grade 1 through High School
This is a two-year program. Children generally begin their sacramental preparation in the first grade with reception of the sacraments in the second grade. However, our program is designed to meet your child wherever they are in the faith journey.
The first year is the faith foundation year in which children will gain an understanding of the Catholic faith through Sacraments, Gospel stories, Old Testament Stories, prayers, life of the saints and Church feast days.
The second year is the sacramental preparation year in preparation for reception of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The Sacramental year includes family gatherings, children retreat and a re-enactment of the Passover Seder of Jesus’ Last Supper. Children will learn about God’s incredible love for us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and His union with us in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The children will engage in a study of our Mass, which is the source and summit of
our faith.
PLEASE NOTE: If your child has been baptized and you are registering them for First Communion, you must bring a copy of their Baptism Certificate when registering
